5th Grade Family Portraits

Before Fall Break, our 5th graders spent some time thinking about their family. What is a family? Who is part of their family and what do they like to do? We looked at the writer and illustrator Eric Carle's collage process and mimicked it by painting our own tissue paper and using it, mixed with plain tissue paper, to add color to their family portraits.
